South African (SA) equities outperformed global equities as the rand continued to strengthen in December supporting local assets. SA property was the best performing asset class followed by local fixed income. Despite strong performance from the local property market the JSE financials sector significantly underperformed followed by resources. The industrials sector performed relatively well with continued outperformance by Naspers and Prosus over the month.
